This charming little gift book by Jean Gietzen is a very quick read and a wonderful book to read aloud to young children.
The story revolves around a family in 1943 who purchases a nativity set at the local five and ten store. When they get it home they find it has two baby Jesus figures. So they put a sign in the store "If You're Missing Baby Jesus call" with their phone number.
When the phone finally rings it's not at all what they expected and sends them out on a bitterly cold Christmas Eve on a totally unexpected mission that reinforces the true meaning of Christmas.
A simply wonderful book that needs to be read every Christmas season.
